The power of play

Our summer of fun is still going strong here in Warrington with thousands of people heading to the Victoria Park Experience (VPX) to engage in the power of play. I went to these events in my own time and took my son Lewis and niece Enya to help too. They were absolutely fantastic doing all sorts of jobs for anyone who needed help. Lewis spent most of it dressed as a mascot called Jet and he engaged with thousands of children. Very well done to you both and thanks for giving up your holidays for others. I was also joined by community colleagues Beky and Katy, and we helped support the sports zone – zorbs, a maze, bikes and basketball activities as well as a climbing wall which was funded by an Asda Foundation grant of £450.– Liz, Asda community champion

Holiday club fun

I popped in to help the holiday club at Thomas Risley Church which has just received a healthy holidays grant from the Asda Foundation secured by Asda Birchwood community champion Beky to provide food for youngsters over the summer holidays. The club is on all week from 10am and everyone is welcome. Children can register on the day, but an adult must sign them in.   – Liz, Asda community champion

Standing together for Pride

Colleagues from our region stood together (in the rain)  as we supported our LGBT+ community at Wigan Pride. We all support the words of Katie, diversity and inclusion manager at Asda, who said: "Asda and our Pride network are really passionate about creating an inclusive environment for our colleagues, customers and communities."'
