Jake gains in confidence thanks to a year-long placement at Asda Wythenshawe

Colleagues at our Wythenshawe store work with a nearby specialist support school to help young adults like Jake Knox learn the skills they need for their working lives.

Jake, who's 18, has just completed a year-long school placement at the store arranged with his school, Piper Hill Specialist Support School. He says he's much more confident now, as well as having developed skills which prepared him to start an internship at Wythenshawe Hospital. Read more

Fruit fun at the Wythenshawe Games

We were happy to help when we received a request to help the annual Wythenshawe Games. We donated a mixture of fresh and frozen fruit and fruit juices for children to make their own healthy smoothies using the smoothie bike, which uses pedal power to blend the fruit. I was even invited to pop down and have a go myself.– Donna, Asda community champion

Colleagues pull out all the stops to reunite Skyla with her favourite doll

Our colleague Angela Jones found the doll in the store and handed her over to the customer services desk for safe keeping. When the store's community champion Sarah Williams spotted her there she decided to raise awareness by taking some fun photos to share on social media of Anna being given her own Asda name badge and being taken on a tour of the store – including the frozen aisle, obviously! How Susan is using her own breast cancer experience to help other people

Tickled Pink is my favourite time of year – I just love it! Everyone supports it, because so many of us have been affected by cancer either directly or through people we love. It's so important that we fundraise and raise awareness of breast cancer and support the amazing work Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Now do.

We have lots of Tickled Pink activities planned in our store over the next few weeks, including a fun day and zumba dancing, and a sponsored walk is in the pipeline. One of my colleagues, Jason, is also going to have his head shaved! Read more

If you shop at our Toryglen or Maidstone Living stores you might spot a familiar face in our new Downton Abbey TV ad – our colleagues David Dalziel and Lorraine Martin.
