Nothe Fort Artillery Volunteers hold in store bag pack

A few of the Nothe Fort Artillery Volunteers came in store to do some bag packing. They looked very smart in their uniforms, although I did ask them not to wear their hobnail boots or they might have ended up sliding up the aisles!

Supporting the Weymouth half marathon

Weymouth Rotary Club helped run the JustRacing UK half marathon and asked if Asda could help in any way. We donated drinks for the competitors.

Weymouth Old Town Hall receive Green Token Giving funding

Weymouth Old Town Hall were runners up in the Green Token Giving scheme and received £200. This will go towards upkeep of the hall.

Helping out Weldmar Hospicecare

I was asked if Asda could help Weldmar Hospicecare by donating food for their Bluebell Ball. I agreed to supply the vegetables and loaded up a trolley with potatoes, carrots, parsnips and broccoli. The ball was a great success and raised in excess of £5k to help in the running of this wonderful hospice.

Laura invited to Palace garden party as thank you for her great work in the community

Our Bloxwich store's community champion Laura Griffiths is a great supporter of local charities, clubs and good causes ... and she says she's on "cloud nine" after one of the groups she helps nominated her to attend a garden party at Buckingham Palace.

Laura said: "I took my mom, who'd just celebrated a special birthday, and we both had the best day! I was nominated by a gentleman called James Elliot from the Church Lads' and Church Girls' Brigade; when I asked why he said it was because I'm passionate and hardworking. Read more
