Hi, I'm Mark Dimbleby, the store manager at Asda Pudsey Supercentre. Please use the store details to the left if you need to contact the store for any reason.
Valley View School received a £500 Asda Foundation donation from our Pudsey store's community champion Sandra. This will go towards their wild garden which will be enjoyed by youngsters and the elderly.
Our Leigh store’s wonderful community champion Gwen Appleton has volunteered at her local food bank every week for the last five years – and now she’s helped secure a £29,808 donation for it from the Asda Fight Hunger Create Change programme.
The donation will enable Atherton and Leigh Foodbank to pay the rent at their distribution warehouse, which volunteers say would have been hard to pay for without the grant. Read more
I joined the store eight years ago, initially as a Christmas temp. After a year in customer services, the community champion role came up and I've now spent seven amazing years in the role. I love it because it makes me feel humble and proud of the way I can make such a positive impact on where I live, and I meet such a wide a variety of amazing people all doing their bit for Warrington. Last year alone, with Asda Foundation grants, Green Token Giving and colleague and customer fundraising, we donated £40,338.17 from our store alone!
I love working with my wonderful colleagues and so many local charities, groups and good causes. I kept a diary of what I did for a week to give an idea of what the role of an Asda community champion involves: Read more
Twelve-year-old Tyree Hill has learning disabilities that mean he struggles to communicate and can find things overwhelming – but his mum Kellie says he’s been transformed by a “phenomenal act of kindness” from Mark Smyth at our Antrim store.
Kellie noticed Tyree was showing an interest in wildlife and posted on Facebook to see if any of her friends might have tips. Mark, who's a wildlife enthusiast, got in touch and gave Tyree a book on birds that really inspired him. Mark's been finding more wildlife magazines and pictures to share with him – and Kellie says Tyree's getting so much joy from everything he’s learning. Read more
We love hearing about colleagues who met and fell in love working at Asda – like Kate and Brian MacPherson from our Dundee West store.
The couple have been happily married for 14 years and, as they've both worked at three different Dundee stores – West, Milton and Kirkton – lots of colleagues went to their wedding at Dundee Registrars Office in October 2005. Read more
Hi, I'm Sandra, and I've been the Community Champion at Asda Pudsey for nine years. The great thing about this job is the opportunity to work within the community and in store, getting involved with the colleagues and customers. But most satisfying of all is the work I do with the children at the schools we support. Please get in touch by using the store details to the left.
