Helping at the LifeHouse

A small army of colleagues marched over to the LifeHouse food kitchen in Albert Road where we served more than 40 meals.

The LifeHouse is open on Wednesday mornings from 9am for brunch and on Thursday evening for a substantial evening meal. There is also an opportunity for the guests to pick supplies like  sleeping bags, food parcels, essentials etc.  Many thanks to Jo, Nicky, Joanna, Sue, Sharon Andrea, from our store and Rachel from Gosport.  You girls were amazing and I couldn’t have done it without you. Thanks also to Racheal Hazel Pickard AKA Miss Beauty Hampshire who also came to help. Store manager Dean was on hand to help serve the food and he was a great help.

Summer fayre fun

I supported a summer fayre organised by A World With Friends by helping on the tombola, name the teddy and how many sweets stall.

Bike fun for everyone

Another day spent with the junior club at Enable Ability where we had the pleasure of using Portsmouth FC's accessible bikes. They spent the morning riding all the different bikes and I even got to ride one too!

Fruit tasting fun

During the summer holidays, the junior club at Enable Ability hold a play scheme two days a week and I had the privilege of using our school toolkit to provide a fruit tasting and fruit salad-making workshop.Everyone got to taste a variety of fruit and then make their own fruit salad to enjoy after their lunch.

Picnic time

I had a great time on a teddy bear's picnic with a group of parents and children’s from the Love Buckland group. We played games with parachutes and big garden games. The children loved their lunch with everyone receiving a special teddy bear box which included a teddy, Pom Bear crisps, a teddy book and a Barney Bear cake. Asda provided the cakes.
