Phil tackles marathon challenge after winning a place in the runners' hall of fame

Phil Scott from our St Leonards-on-Sea store has run 15 half marathons in a year to become the first person from outside the US to earn a place in the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Series hall of fame.

Phil has run in the US, Mexico, Canada, Spain and UK to earn his accolade – and now he's aiming to run in every English county to raise money for charity after his mum Judith was diagnosed with cancer. Read more

In-store wedding celebration for Asda Oadby bakers Ruth and Andy

Congratulations to our colleagues Ruth Adams and Andy McLeod who've got married after meeting in the bakery at our Oadby store.

Their friends at the store organised a special wedding celebration in the bakery a few days before their big day, giving Ruth a veil of bread bags and creating an archway of baguettes for them to walk through. Read more

Dundee Kirkton colleagues give Margaret a happy 90th birthday surprise

Great grandmother Margaret Finnie has shopped in our Dundee Kirkton store for 'donkey's years' – and when our colleagues found out it was her 90th birthday they surprised her with flowers, balloons and a cake.

Community champion Sam Will, who helped organise the surprise, said: "It was a pleasure for us to make Margaret's day special. She was very happy and a wee bit shocked. She said no one had ever done anything like this for her before. Read more

Jack came to Asda Patchway to pay for a trip ... now he's one of our youngest section leaders

Our colleague Jack Cowles got a part-time Christmas job at Asda when he was 16 to save money for a trip to Borneo. He loved it so much he returned and now, two years later, he’s one of our youngest section leaders.

Jack manages a team of 30 at our Patchway store in Bristol and hopes to be a store manager one day. Read more

Michelle takes centre stage after helping community hub secure a £5,000 grant

We think our Gosforth store's community champion Michelle Castledine is a star after she helped a local community hub secure a £5,000 Asda Foundation grant – and, as you can see, so do a local youth theatre group who rehearse and perform there!

The donation meant St Aidan's Community Centre could buy new lighting and sound facilities which will benefit the many groups who rely on the centre – including Music Art Dance Drama group, shown above rehearsing for their recent version of Romeo and Juliet. Read more
