Happy retirement to Roy who 'brightens up the life of everyone' at Asda Worcester

Everyone at our Worcester store loves Roy Pennington – and he's so well known for his fantastic customer service and cheery personality that he was joined by friends, family, shoppers and even the mayor when he was thrown a surprise retirement party.

Roy, who's 72, is taking a well-earned rest after years of putting smiles on customers' faces at his checkout. His wife Margaret and their daughter Karen joined him for his final day at the store. Read more

Our wonderful colleague Jacqui Johnson looked so glamorous when she took to the catwalk at Breast Cancer Care's annual fashion show.

She joined 31 other women who've had breast cancer in taking to the catwalk in the fundraising show and gala at Park Plaza venue in London, modelling a variety of different outfits. Read more

Tickled Pink donations are helping to fund pioneering breast cancer research

Colleagues from our stores in Northern Ireland visited Queen's University Belfast to see the difference money raised by our Tickled Pink appeal makes to breast cancer research.

All donations we receive go to Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Now. The money raised has enabled Dr Niamh Buckley and her team at the university's cancer research centre to work towards finding treatment for the most aggressive breast cancers. Read more

I’ve worked at the Kingsthorpe store for 10 years and really love it there, as it’s a nice friendly place and I know a lot of the customers who come in … and you could say that I might not be here now if it wasn’t for my job.

I work on the front end, on checkouts and self scan. My job involves a bit of chatting to customers (which is fine by me!) and it’s a direct result of talking to a customer in the store that I got myself checked and was diagnosed with breast cancer. Read more
