Welcome to Asda Newport Isle of Wight

Kenny Farrell Hello! I'm your store manager, Kenny Farrell, and I'd like to extend a warm welcome to you from myself and all my colleagues here at your Newport store – near to Newport Football Club, St George's Way. You'll find everything you need for your full weekly shop at our everyday low prices. We pride ourselves on giving warm and friendly service, and look forward to seeing you in store soon.

Melissa loves her day helping at Asda Isle of Wight

Thirteen-year-old Melissa Taylor-Grounsell loves our Isle of Wight store so much that she says she'd like to work on the pizza counter when she's older – so she had a whale of a time when colleagues arranged for her to join the team for a day.

Her mum Sarah has worked on the checkouts at the store since it opened, and says Melissa, who has ADHD and dyspraxia, talks about Asda all the time. Read more

Carnival donation

A big thank you to the Asda Foundation for the £320 top-up cheque to Newport Carnival. Colleagues bucket collected along the route and  were very pleased to hand over the cheque. Paddy from the carnival was speechless as he had no idea it was coming.

Marching Band

I welcomed Medina Marching Band into store to play music and songs to entertain our customers. They are fundraising for the band to perform in The Lord Mayors Parade on New Year's Day in London. Customers loved standing and listening to this excellent band.

Veterans instore

I was delighted to welcome Veterans Outreach Support into store to raise awareness for the charity and continue their fundraising work to support veterans across the Island.

Porter Alex is a hit with our customers

Alex is one of our newest porters and at the age of 19 he's already a real hit with customers.

I found a number of comments in the customer comment book about Alex saying how helpful and cheerful he is. One said "Alex was a credit to our store" and another wrote "Alex was always happy and helpful". Keep up the great work – Alex we're all very proud of you!– Clare, Asda community champion
