Laura invited to Palace garden party as thank you for her great work in the community

Our Bloxwich store's community champion Laura Griffiths is a great supporter of local charities, clubs and good causes ... and she says she's on "cloud nine" after one of the groups she helps nominated her to attend a garden party at Buckingham Palace.

Laura said: "I took my mom, who'd just celebrated a special birthday, and we both had the best day! I was nominated by a gentleman called James Elliot from the Church Lads' and Church Girls' Brigade; when I asked why he said it was because I'm passionate and hardworking. Read more

Colleagues from across Kent and East Sussex join forces to clean Folkestone beach

A group of 15 colleagues from our stores in Kent and East Sussex teamed up to tidy the Lower Leas cliff area of Folkestone beach.

Our Folkestone store's community champion Abi McRoberts organised the litter pick with help from Folkestone and Hythe District Council, and she was joined by store manager Elizabeth Richards and colleagues from our stores in Broadstairs, Brighton Marina, Sittingbourne, Ashford, Chatham, Gravesend, Kingshill, Gillingham Pier, Crawley and Tunbridge Wells. Joe loves his visits to Asda Gosforth thanks to our caring checkout colleague Joan

Eight-year-old Joe Finn often finds it overwhelming when he's in a large shop – but he loves helping his mum Pat on their regular trips to our Gosforth store after striking up a special relationship with our fantastic checkout colleague Joan Bailey.

Joan's helped Joe to relax and feel more confident by chatting to him, giving him a seat at her till and even letting him help her scan the shopping – and Pat says Joe, who has cerebral palsy and autism, "loves her to bits". Read more

Happy Little Helpers boards are a hit with charity guests at Asda Bangor

Guests from a charity helping people with learning disabilities and autism to live independently had a fantastic time store trying out the Happy Little Helpers boards with Makaton counters at our Bangor store.

The boards are designed to make shopping trips more enjoyable and less stressful for people with additional needs. Read more
