Support for Darlington MS Society

Darlington MS Society were runners up in our Green Token Giving vote and received £200. They were nominated by one of our retired colleagues Cath as her daughter has MS and attends the group. Martin, Roger and Martin came along to collect the donation. They were also surprised at how we could support them in other kinds of donations too such as goods, space and time.

Be Your Breast Friend

As part of our Tickled Pink breast cancer charity campaign we're putting stickers on all sorts of products to remind people how important it is to regularly check your breasts. Early diagnosis can make all the difference, and we'll be hold a series of fundraising and awareness events in store over the next couple of months. We held a tombola to start our fundraising efforts.

Pat's our star charity fundraiser

I'd like you to meet Pat Coles, one of our Meat colleagues who has 39 years' service with Asda and who's raised thousands of pounds for local good causes over the years. Pat's supported local schools, nurseries, care homes, the Great North Air Ambulance as well as our national charity partners Tickled Pink and BBC Children In Need. Pat loves paper craft and makes themed packaging filled with sweets to sell as well as making up hampers to raffle for the various local causes she supports. We recently received top up funding of £122 from the Asda Foundation to match the amount Pat raised for Whinfield Primary School at their Christmas fair, so we went to an assembly to present the donation this week. Pat is also our store Queen Elizabeth lookalike!
