Little Lily loves her afternoon helping the George team at Asda Havant

Five-year-old Lily Broom loves joining her mum Lissie on her regular shopping trips to our Havant store – so when her school held a careers day she said working at George would be her dream job!

Lissie’s friend Kerry Preston is George section leader at the store, so arranged for Lily to have a work top and name badge to wear to school and invited her in for an afternoon helping at the store’s George department. Read more

'I like helping people': James from Asda Bigglewade also works as a firefighter

Our brilliant colleague James Luff combines a job in the home shopping team at our Biggleswade store with a role as a part-time firefighter – and he'll be standing by to deal with any emergencies this New Year.

James carries a pager at all times, and if it goes off while he's at work he runs from the store to the nearby fire station. Read more

Thank you to all our customers and colleagues who’ve been sharing wonderful Christmas stories with us over the last few weeks – like the moment six-year-old Eve Taylor saw Santa and his elves arrive in an Asda delivery van.

Eve loves our green vans – she calls them “apple vans” – so colleagues at our Brierley Hill store in Dudley invited her to a special festive party and gave her the chance to sit in the cab with one of Santa’s elves. Read more here. Read more

Our Glenrothes store's community champion Avril Dullea spends every Friday volunteering with the wonderful team at her local foodbank – and they say she's become "a real friend to them".

Fight Hunger funding means community centre in Belfast can help hundreds of people

Volunteers at a community centre in Belfast providing vital food, activities and support for hundreds of local people say they've been able to keep their doors open thanks to weekly deliveries from FareShare.

The Asda Fight Hunger Create Change programme has allowed FareShare Northern Ireland to buy a new van to support more charities like Tullymore Community Centre – and our Westwood store's community champion Noeleen McMahon joined their team to help collect their latest delivery of groceries.
