Joey's sleeping soundly with his favourite blanket after we track down a replacement

Nineteen-month-old Joey Bates is snuggling down with his favourite George fleece blanket again after colleagues at our home office in Leeds pulled out all the stops to track down a replacement for him.

Joey's had his blue Up, Up and Away blanket with aeroplanes on since he was born, but because it's been so well used it was starting to get worn and the label, which he rubs on his face to calm him down, had come off. Read more

Our amazing pizza counter colleague Catherine Gallagher looked so glamorous when she took to the catwalk at the Breast Cancer Care Fashion Show in London.

As part of our Tickled Pink campaign which partners with the charity, Catherine joined 31 other catwalk models who've had a breast cancer diagnosis to take part in the annual show, which raises money for vital breast cancer research and life-changing care. Read more

Locally-grown pumpkins from Gilfresh are now on sale at Asda stores in Northern Ireland

We're proud to now be able to offer locally-grown pumpkins at all our stores in Northern Ireland for the first time.

We commissioned Loughgall-based Gilfresh to grow and supply over 50,000 pumpkins for our 16 stores in Northern Ireland – equating to 50% of our total requirement for the busy Halloween period. Read more

The dedicated Boats team at Asda Peterhead deliver essential supplies to fishermen

When Peterhead's fishermen arrive back in port with their week's catch they often have less than 24 hours before they're back out at sea – so we have a dedicated Boats team working to make sure they're loaded up with all the supplies they'll need.

Sian Strachan and Leanne Low at our Peterhead store use WhatsApp to keep in touch with the trawlermen, who let them know when they're heading back to the port so our team can make sure everything's ready for them at the harbourside. Read more

New funding from Asda enables FareShare to open a new South Midlands distribution hub

Funding from the Asda Fight Hunger Create Change programme has enabled food charity FareShare to open a new warehouse in Milton Keynes to distribute surplus food to people in need.

The new centre is part of our £20 million three-year investment in FareShare and The Trussell Trust and will help more than 5,000 people at risk of hunger within the first year of opening. Read more
