Two Police Community Support Officers helped our Pwllheli store’s fundraising party for Breast Cancer Care go smoothly – bringing cakes and treats to an art gallery when they spotted our Community Champion Jo Scott struggling to carry them all.

Jo with Leanne and Enir

Jo was on her way to host a Strawberry Tea for the charity with a local pensioners’ group when she bumped into local PCSOs Leanne Rowlands and Enir Griffiths. They were only too happy to help when they saw her struggling.

Both the PCSOs and Jo have organised various community fundraising events in Pwllheli and get involved in each other’s events, teaming up for Tickled Pink, Children in Need and now Breast Cancer Care.

Thousands of children across the country are stepping up to our Asda Active challenge this summer.

Our team of Community Champions have equipped primary schools, community groups and clubs with pedometers to record the number of steps the children can achieve in the run-up to their sports days and are then supplying medals, prizes, drinks and snacks to the youngsters at the events.

St Helens Asda Active

Gaynor Winstanley, Community Champion at our St Helens store, handed out bottled water, certificates and medals to children from a local primary school. Youngsters took part in a range of activities, with reception class children trying the high jump and year six pupils running the 100m.

Nashon was shopping at her local Asda store when she spotted our colourful garden paint range. They inspired her to get creative and upcycle her 14-year-old daughter Millie’s tired Wendy house in the garden.

We love the way mum Lyndsay personalised these Asda Piñata Surprise cakes – and so did her six-year-old twins Liam and Ellie!

Liam and Ellie with their cakes

Lyndsay always likes to give the twins their own individual cake on their birthday – so she bought two different Piñata Surprise cakes and used rice paper and decorative names to personalise them.

She usually bakes their birthday cakes but this year decided to save time and money by buying cakes from Asda and adding her own finishing touches.

Love a nice slice of pizza? We’ve made a few changes and introduced six tasty new flavours to our Extra Special range!

Try the tasty new range

The new range includes: Buffalo Mozzarella & Sunblush Tomato, Spanish Chorizo & Manchego, British Chicken & Basil Pesto, Tandoori Chicken Tikka, Spinach & Italian Ricotta and Smoked Ham, Mushroom & Mascarpone.

By making a few tweaks to the dough mixing technique, oven settings and sauce placement, we’ve made sure that the pizzas are even tastier than before.

Each pizza has a soft and thin base, made with hand-stretched dough and cooked in our stonebake ovens.
