Asda customers and colleagues will be cheering on Tom Parsons in the Commonwealth Games today when he competes in the Men’s High Jump final.

Tom is hoping for a medal after qualifying on Monday – but just two weeks ago he was delivering groceries to our customers in Birmingham!

The international athlete combines his training with working part-time at Asda as a Home Shopping delivery driver in the Chelmsley Wood area of Birmingham.

Our Home shopping colleagues often deliver to holiday destinations – but turning up to a scout camp in the middle of a field was a first for driver Tony Seager!

The 10th Frome Scout group lived up to the Scout motto “Be prepared” when they placed their online order in advance of their camp last weekend. They ordered BBQ meat, rolls and other camp essentials for 86 to be delivered on Friday to their mess tent door! They were taking part in a District camp with 400 beavers, cubs and scouts at West Woodlands show field just outside Frome.

Scout leader Clare Ibbitson shared the photo of the delivery on Twitter and said they were delighted with the service they received.

“The driver was exceptionally polite and interacted with the Holstein who were helping unload the shopping!” said Clare.
