Welcome to Asda Merthyr Tydfil

Hello, I'm Tony Humphreys the General Store Manager at Asda Merthyr Tydfil. I have been with Asda for 37 years and have worked in various stores in the South Wales region. We are a busy store with around 480 colleagues and are situated at Dowlais Top. We are very active in our local community and love getting involved in community projects.

We’ve launched our own brand of authentic Welsh cream that’s produced and packaged in Wales – get it now from your local store!

The range also features Welsh language on the packaging.

Cows from Arla’s Welsh farms will supply the milk before it’s processed and packaged at the family owned Tomlinson’s Dairies in Minera, Wrexham.

If you still on the hunt for Easter eggs here’s some you might like…

Easter eggs

Our Extra Special eggs (£6 each) make great gifts. This year we’ve got a hand-decorated egg made with Ghanian cocoa beans; a milk and dark chocolate egg filled with honeycomb, chocolate curls and rich fudge; and a new twist on chocolate fruit and nut – a dark and white chocolate egg filled with juicy sultanas, cranberries and hazelnuts.

We’ve got lots of Easter treats at our bakery counter in store, from traditional hot cross buns to bunny crumpets and Easter celebration cakes.

Hot cross buns

Our hot cross buns are baked fresh in store each day and the cross is piped on by hand. In-store baker Mark Oliver spent months getting the recipe just right – “Our buns are traditional, with subtle notes of cloves and cinnamon,” he said.

This year we’ve got two new varieties of Chosen by you hot cross buns: Double Chocolate or Caramel and White Chocolate at just 85p for a pack of four.

Whole salmon
