Blood Bikes charity receive Asda Foundation donation

Freewheelers EVS Blood Bikes were our Green Token Giving winners and I presented them with a £500 cheque from the Asda Foundation. This is a charity that provides an out of hours emergency medical courier services to hospitals.

This week we’ve been recognising our fantastic long-serving colleagues – like Pauline Brown, who’s worked at our Cramlington store for 45 years.

Colleagues with more than 25 years of service got together at the Big Asda Anniversary to celebrate their commitment to our stores and customers.

Pauline has worked on the checkouts at the store since 1972 and has no plans to retire.

Two-year-old Leo Spavin can now join his mum and dad on their weekly shop at Asda Scunthorpe thanks to our GoTo Shop trolley.

Leo with Nikki and Chris

Leo has a rare genetic disorder and is cared for full-time by his mum Nikki, pictured above with Leo and her husband Chris.

Nikki said: “The trolley helps massively … I couldn’t do a big shop on my own before. In this trolley he is elevated and facing us, which means he’s much happier because he can see everything that’s going on!”
