Playgroup volunteers Elaine & Jennifer are Hidden Heroes

Here are Elaine and Jennifer who work at Letham Playgroup where I help out most weeks. I surprised them with Hidden Hero badges and chocolates. I think they do such a great job helping the village children and setting them on the path of education. Manager Claire was off ill that day so hopefully her chocs will cheer her up when she gets back to work!

Jean, who has five children and is a great-grandma, still lives independently but her mobility has been restricted after breaking her hip so she uses a wheelchair.

Jean thoroughly enjoyed her shopping trip and said: “It was lovely – I would love to come back again!”

The first year drama student at the University of East Anglia was putting together her Asda online shop and filled in ‘quantity’ for all of her items – apart from chillies.

She meant to buy one green chilli – but instead filled in ‘one’ in the weight category, meaning she ordered one kilogram of thin green chillies costing £4.10.
