Welcome to Asda Ferring

My name is Scott Mount and I am the General Store Manager of your Asda store in Ferring. I, along with all of our colleagues, look forward to welcoming you to the store.

We’re always looking for ways to make shopping in our stores as easy, fast and friendly as possible – it’s why we offer convenient ways to shop like our Scan & Go service.

Scan & Go

Scan & Go allows customers to keep track of their spending throughout their shop, as the handy scanner shows a running total – including all rollbacks and offers.

Disability Access Group receive Asda Foundation donation

East Preston Disability Access Group received a £200 Asda Foundation donation from Green Token Giving. The group is currently working on two projects to improve disabled access. One of them is to build a wooden runway over the pebbles on the beach so that wheelchair users can get to the water's edge. Steve Newell, our Deputy Store Manager, presented the cheque.

A big well done to our checkout colleague John Dalton who’s struck gold with Asda’s first ever display at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

John with his award

John, who works at our Carlisle store, created a stunning design called Galacticus that wowed the judges and won him the Gold Award in the ‘Destination Unknown’ category using flowers sourced from Asda’s suppliers.

He came up with an idea for a spectacular creation based on space featuring colourful flowers weaving through metal ‘flying saucers’.

Check out this amazing personalised remote control model of a George lorry that Craig Lawther made to say thank you to his supportive colleagues at our Gosforth store.

Craig and colleagues with the lorry

Craig has worked in the store’s George department for nine years and built the model from scratch using a kit – and delighted customers and colleagues by driving it through the store and the warehouse.

The three-foot long lorry even has the names of some of the George colleagues printed on its side after Craig asked a graphic designer friend to make a special sign.

Regular Asda Shirley customer Pat Baxter made an extra visit to the store this week – calling in to thank our colleague Dave Cherry for helping her after she had a nasty fall in the street.

Pat and Dave

Dave was first on the scene when Pat tripped over the kerb in Solihull town centre, badly cutting her nose. He helped her up, stemmed the bleeding with his T-shirt, called an ambulance, and stayed with her. Pat needed stitches in her nose and suffered a bruised wrist.

A passer-by who witnessed the accident posted about Dave’s kindness on Facebook – and the post received thousands of reactions and positive comments.
