We’ve been named Britain’s lowest-priced supermarket for the 16th year in a row at the Grocer Gold Awards – the Oscars of the food and drink industry.

We also won the title “Britain’s favourite supermarket” for the third year running – a really special award as it’s decided by a poll of more than 6,000 shoppers.

We're cutting waste – and getting food to the people who need it

Asda FareShare

We’re delighted to announce we’re launching an exciting new scheme to help cut food waste – and support some of the most vulnerable people in the UK at the same time.

We’ve teamed up with food redistribution charity FareShare to make sure food we don’t have room for on the shelves goes to people who need it – not into the bin.

This pioneering change means an extra 1,500 tonnes of food will go to UK charities every year – increasing the amount of food redistributed by FareShare by 41%. That’s the same as an extra 3.6 million meals every year.

Norma's Facebook campaign takes Asda prices over the sea to Skye

Norma Mckenzie was so fed up with the high cost of groceries on the Isle of Skye she set up a Facebook page campaigning for Asda to come to the rescue with our everyday low prices.

She quickly attracted the support of more than 1,000 fellow islanders – a tenth of the population – who joined the campaign and “liked” her Asda/Skye Home Delivery page.

And now – thanks to Norma’s determination and the work of our colleagues in our Inverness store nearly 100 miles away – we’re delighted to say that Asda home shopping vans have started bringing those much-needed deliveries over the sea to Skye!
