Welcome to Asda Chelmsford

Hi! My name is Jason and I am the General Store Manager at Asda Chelmsford.
We pride ourselves as being the hub of the community and the store has a real community spirit; being located in the centre of the village square. I look forward to hearing from you. If you have any questions or comments please contact me by the details to the left.

Our large £1 Halloween pumpkins – which are in stores now – have been named best looking, best for carving and best value for money in a supermarket comparison by the Mirror.

Jack Skellington

And to encourage you to discover for yourself, we’re giving you the chance to win £50 if you share a photo of your creatively carved pumpkin … like this frightfully good Pumpkin King carved by 13-year-old Faith.

Faith’s aunt Lisa bought one large and one 50p medium pumpkin at her local Asda Living in Oldham – as well as two pumpkin carving kits, which are just £1 each.

Asda customer Jen Goodhand took to Facebook to praise one of our colleagues for the professional way she helped her son Oscar when he went into a panic on a trip to our Redditch store.

Jen, Oscar and Emma

Jen said Emma Sanders “showed a level of care and understanding that we rarely see outside of family”.

Ten-year-old Oscar, who’s on the autistic spectrum, became very distressed after seeing a giant Halloween skeleton at the front of the store. Emma, who’s 23 and works in the George department, came to his aid and asked him what kind of things he liked.

When he said he was a fan of Star Wars she picked up a pair of Star Wars pyjamas and asked him to talk her through the different characters – and Oscar started to calm down.

A huge well done to the 200 colleagues from our 28 stores across Manchester who teamed up for an epic 100-mile walking relay to raise money for Tickled Pink.

The team approach the finishing line at Rivington Pike

The four-day relay, which took in every one of the stores on route, was the idea of Asda Harpurhey’s General Store Manager Andy Rae as a way of everyone coming together to mark our breast cancer charity campaign’s 20th anniversary.

Doug the Pug the Therapy Dog wasn’t quite sure what to make of our new George cushion when he encountered it for the first time!

Doug and the interloper

His owner, Cate Archer, brought it home from our High Wycombe store and posted this fantastic photo on Doug’s Instagram account, saying: “We appear to have an interloper. I do hope he’s friendly.”

The good news is that Cate was soon posting another photo and saying: “So cosy. All snuggled up with a squishy friend … interloper turned out a lovely snuggly friend.”

Meet the “Pink Ladies” – some of our fabulous Community Champions who teamed up for a special tour around our Bristol stores to raise money for Tickled Pink.

Tickled Pink in Bristol

Our annual breast cancer charity campaign is a cause close to their hearts as one of the group and several of their close colleagues have had breast cancer.

The colleagues staged a Pink Ladies Tour in stores across Bristol to mark the campaign’s 20th year and help raise funds for our charity partners Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Now.
