Welcome to Asda Biggleswade

Asda customer Penelope posted a lovely message on Facebook thanking our Middlesbrough colleague Wendy for the way she calmed her little boy Junior when he was throwing a tantrum.

Wendy with Junior

Penelope said her shopping trip with Junior had turned into a real ordeal and she was dreading getting to the checkout with an unhappy toddler.

But 16-month-old Junior immediately calmed down when Wendy took him in her arms and entertained him as she scanned Penelope’s shopping.

Penelope, 26, said: “She was so good with him – she was just lovely. It genuinely meant the world to me to be given just a little helping hand.”

Asda’s first ever pizza counter opened 30 years ago at our Nottingham West Bridgford store – and our colleague Karen has been serving delicious pizzas to customers since the very first day.

Store manager Tony Brennan said: “Our customers love Karen just as much as the pizzas she makes and some even ask for her by name.”

She said: “I love seeing the same faces week in week out at the pizza counter; if certain customers don’t come in, I get worried as I know that some customers just love our pizzas.”

Asda customer Kathryn contacted us on social media to tell us how wonderful our Peterborough colleague Jo is after she came to her aid when her car crashed.

Kathryn and Jo

Jo stopped to help when she spotted Kathryn’s car had crashed off a frozen country road. Kathryn said: “She was like an angel. She was brilliant and so reassuring.”

Mum-of-two Kathryn Eldridge, 32, had to clamber out of the passenger door when her car span off the road, smashed through a fence and ended up in a field.

Other cars went past without stopping but when 21-year-old Jo Durndell – on her way to work – spotted distraught Kathryn she stopped and ran to help her.

Kathryn said: "Once I’d managed to get out of the car I was shaken and crying, and I looked up and saw Jo running towards me with her arms open. She said ‘come here’ and gave me a big hug and asked if I was ok.

Slimzone range

Our new range of Slimzone frozen ready meals is getting lots of people talking on social media.

We’re getting some great feedback from people who say they’re loving the new products like the “really tasty” Vegetable Arrabbiata, “good and flavoursome” Pork Sausages and “delish” Chicken Tikka Masala.

The meals have been designed to be free to enjoy if you’re following the Slimming World Extra Easy plan.

The products haven’t been endorsed or tested by Slimming World. Whilst Slimming World has said that it cannot currently confirm that the products are Free, it has said: “Looking at the packaging, there is a strong likelihood that the Slimzone meals will be Free or low in Syns.”
