Asda Bideford pharmacist visits baby clinic to give tips to mums

Our Community Champion Peter and Asda Bideford Pharmacist Sarah visited Bideford Bay Children's Centre to pass on tips about how to keep babies and young children healthy. Sarah talked to parents about the services on offer at the pharmacy while Peter hosted a fruit tasting session for parents and children.

St Mary's children enjoy healthy eating classes with "Asda man"

Asda Bideford Community Champion Peter dressed up as "Asda man" to visit both year two classes at St. Mary's School. He was talking to the children about healthy eating and leading a tasting session for the kids to try different fruit and vegetables. They sampled Avocado, Beetroot, Blueberries, Clementines, Cucumber, Lychees, Melon, Passion Fruit, Pineapple, Raspberries, Red Pepper & Sharon Fruit. The activity was popular with the children.

Mock interviews help job seekers find employment

Community Champion Peter has been conducting mock interviews at the Job Centre in Bideford to support job seekers there. He helped them brush up on their interview skills to enable them to find employment. Peter said: "These sessions have proved quite successful over the last 3-4 years and we now have five colleagues at our store who had a mock interview before joining us." Pupils at St George's School try their hand at bread-making

Our Bideford Community Champion Pete teamed up with Barnstaple's new Community Champion Walter to run some bread-making classes at St. Georges School. The kids loved the activity and they produced 60 small loaves during the day.

David loved shopping at Asda when he was a little boy and told his mum “When I grow up I want to work here” – and he’s fulfilled his dream.

David, who’s deaf, got a work experience placement and then a full-time job at our Huddersfield store – and he’s hugely popular with colleagues and customers like 85-year-old Gladys Dorward (pictured above with David).

His mum, Adele Marsden, got in touch with us on Facebook to say how much David has enjoyed his time at the store.
